Blog posts are little news stories that you want to share with your audience. Potentially, your audience is anyone that has an Internet connection. In your settings tab you can control how comments are handled. Your choices are not receive any, receive from anyone that visits your page, or have all comments pass through you for approval.
Blogs can be very useful in education when working on group projects when it is not possible to get together. You can create permissions for all group members so that you can post information that the other members can see instantly.
